In today’s vlog episode, come behind the scenes as I film my first attempt at a viral video. See how I plan the video, how I set up the shots and why it’s so important to me to attempt my first ever viral video.

Did you know that DARETOGROW was my sixth business idea? My first was a card making scheme I had going in my local village pet shop. I’d make handmade cards and sell them for £2.50 and sometimes even £3.50. On good days, when I sold 4 or 5 cards in a day, I could double my wages. It was amazing!

Then I moved on to the idea of a dog grooming shop with my cousin. Makes sense! I do love dogs. But that never went beyond day dreaming.

And my first idea for a ‘real’ business was a training company. That’s why my first company name was LMBT Solutions. It stood for Lisa Marie Bean Training Solutions.

Then of course came the graduate coaching company turned recruitment agency and the digital marketing agency before I gave in to my soul’s calling and launched DARETOGROW…you could argue it’s just another version of LMBT Solutions…I guess your heart always knows.

Anyway, my point is this: you’re never going to land on the perfect idea, the ideal strategy or the business you want on your first go. You’ve got to commit to the longterm game. You’ve got to go on the journey, try new things and see what works…and what you enjoy.

Crucially you’ve got to try and try again until you find the best approach.

And that’s the theory I bring to today’s vlog: my first attempt at a viral video.

Now the video hasn’t ‘gone viral’ yet. But. I did get some unexpected benefits. For example, I’ve found a really cool magazine all about mental health and they’re looking for contributors. I’ve had more hits to this video than ANY OTHER video I’ve ever made! So far we’re on 2300 views. Plus I got 60 new subscribers on YouTube and almost 100 new Facebook likes! Pretty cool.

Did I fail?

No, not yet. You only fail when you stop trying…

Have a watch and as you do, ask yourself: what will you attempt this week?

In 2015 my doctor diagnosed me with depression and said I might be bi-polar. He offered me medication but it wasn’t the right solution for me. Instead, I went running, I stopped watching the news, I got into nature, I set a bold new vision for my life, I followed my passions and I started to express my truth. Just over two years later and I no longer have depression. I now live in Tynemouth, I still go running (now it’s along that gorgeous beach) and I make a living doing what I love: teaching people how to change their lives.

Also obsessed with dogs and vegan baking. Of course.

In my ‘daily vlogs’, I bring you behind the scenes as I continue to change my life and build my dream business. Each day I show you a new technique for changing your life, making a living doing what you love or building your dream life.

Each Sunday I also share a Q&A Sunday, answering one of your specific questions. You can send me your questions to lisa@daretogrow.co.uk
